Paleo Park

Paleo Park is an imagined educational tool, created and designed to promote school/museum interaction by bringing the museum to the schools of America.

The focus will be on Paleontology, a subject children love, stemming back to my eldest son's love of the subject that began twenty years ago.  All Renderings, artwork, and fossil specimens, are works created by me, combined with years of research about the fossils and specimens that I recreate.  What started as an artistic outlet has now become a realization a way of returning to long past desires of teaching.  After twenty years of coaching, mentoring, and private teaching, my desire to see this to fruition is multifaceted.  Allow me to lay out the premise and action of Paleo Park.

With trying times, financial handicaps and many other hurdles, it is easy to see that trips to museums are harder to manufacture. The cost of bussing, admission, chaperones, all become part of an equation harder and harder to resolve.  Instead, why not bring the museum to the school? There are school grounds, the encounter can be monitored and supervised through the school, A smaller admission can be charged for up to a full day of activities, and most of all, the school itself can benefit from the encounter.   As mentioned, an admission would be charged, but this cost has a multifaceted purpose as well.  Of course there would be the cost of operating the museum, but the goal is to return a portion of the proceeds back to each individual school visited, to aid with costs of supplies, extracurricular activities, and special programs.  This is a dedication to all of the teachers involved with the educations of my seven children.  The tasks of those teachers, past and present, who achieve so much, with so little reward.  This is my way to say thank you and remove financial burden they carry for their classes, no matter how big or little our contribution may be to the cause.  I mentioned that a portion would go back to the school.  My hope and prayer is to be able to generate enough from this venture to create an ongoing scholarship program, to help kids and young adults achieve their educational goals.   There's a lot to do, and with the covid issues, I have time to get this ready to roll by the time some sort of normalcy returns to our school.  Until then, enjoy the photos recent and upcoming, of some of what the kids will see.
